Two thread sizes dominate microphone stands and they are not interchangeable. Most of the frustration around clips comes from that single fact, and from the adapter that was in the box the first time and is now lost.
Five-eighths and three-eighths
North American stands are usually five-eighths inch; a lot of European hardware is three-eighths. Adapters are small brass parts that thread into the larger size to accept the smaller one. Keeping two or three spares in the accessory case saves more time than almost anything else you can carry.
Clip diameter matters more than brand
A clip that is even slightly too large will let the microphone rotate under its own cable weight during a performance. Measure the body diameter of the microphone rather than assuming a standard, especially with wireless handhelds, which vary more than wired ones.
Rubber isolation is not the same as a shock mount
A clip with a rubber insert reduces handling noise a little. A proper elastic shock mount does something categorically different and is worth the space in the case for anything recorded close. Do not expect the first to do the job of the second.
